Trump makes fries at McDonald’s, says ‘worked 15 minutes more than Kamala Harris’

Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for the US presidential election, briefly took on the role of a fry cook at a McDonald’s outlet in Pennsylvania on Sunday. While there, he took a jab at his Democratic rival, Kamala Harris, quipping that he “worked 15 minutes more than Kamala” at the fast food chain.
The former US President stopped by a McDonald’s in Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania, in an apparent challenge to his Democratic rival Kamala Harris’s claims of having a “middle-class background”. Harris has frequently referenced her time working at McDonald’s in her campaign ads and speeches.
At the McDonald’s stop, Trump took off his suit jacket, put on a black and yellow apron, and cooked batches of french fries, as one employee demonstrated him how to dunk baskets of fries into the fryer, salt them, and use a scoop to place the fries into boxes. The Republican candidate joked it was something he had “wanted to do all my life”.
Harris, the present US Vice President, had mentioned that she worked at the McDonald’s fast-food chain during her college years in California in the 1980s.
However, Trump has repeatedly claimed that Harris never worked at McDonald’s.
“It was a big part of her resume that she worked at McDonald’s — how tough a job it was,” Trump said at the restaurant in Feasterville, Pennsylvania. “She â€æ made the french fries, and she talked about the heat: ‘It was so tough.’ She’s never worked at McDonald’s”.
And he remarked, “I’ve now worked for 15 minutes more than Kamala”.
When a reporter asked what message he had for Harris on her 60th birthday on Sunday, Trump said, “I would say, ‘Happy Birthday, Kamala,’” adding, “I think I’ll get her some flowers”.
A large crowd gathered along the street outside the outlet located in Bucks County, a crucial swing voter region just north of Philadelphia. He also interacted with a customer through the drive-thru window and the McDonald’s staff as well.
“Look at the crowd over here. They are so happy because they have hope. They need hope,” he said.

Responding to Trump manning the frying station, billionaire businessman Donald Trump, called it “awesome”, as he shared the former President’s video.
Last month, during a campaign event in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Trump said, “I want to work as a fry cook to see how it is,” referencing Harris’ past job.
Both candidates are making frequent stops in Pennsylvania in the final weeks leading up to election day on November 5, recognising the state’s importance for securing a victory. Both Republicans and Democrats are reportedly pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into the state.
